ASEZA Launches Second Phase of Environmental Campaign to Eliminate Illegal Dumping in Aqaba

Amman: Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Wednesday launched the second phase of its "Hotspots" environmental campaign in the Southern Industrial Zone (SIZ) to eliminate illegal dumping sites, remove construction debris, and improve environmental sustainability.

According to Jordan News Agency, Taghreed Maaytah, ASEZA's Director of Environment Protection and Sustainability Directorate, stated that the campaign is focused on cleaning critical ecological hotspots, clearing debris, and educating industrial zone businesses on proper waste management.

The initiative represents a collaborative effort between public institutions and the private sector to enhance environmental compliance, curb illegal waste disposal, and preserve Aqaba's urban environment, Maaytah noted.

She further added that the campaign is part of ASEZA's broader environmental program, which aims at reducing random waste dumping and supporting long-term environmental sustainability across the city.
