Shahkhawan Abdullah arrives in Rome to participate in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, arrived this Sunday evening in the Italian capital – Rome, at the head of a parliamentary delegation from the Security and Defense Committee that included MPs Karim Yousef Hassan and Ali Hassan Abdul Hadi, to participate in the work of the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) meeting held from 6 to 5/8/2024.

It is scheduled to discuss important files, international issues, and a group of security issues and their repercussions on the region and the world.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meets with the President of the Republic of Gambia

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral and Legal Affairs, Omar Al-Barzanji, met with the President of the Republic of Gambia, Adama Barrow, as part of the bilateral meetings that the latter held with the heads of delegations of the countries participating in the meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in its fifteenth session.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Al-Barzanji expressed his wishes to the Republic of The Gambia for success in the tasks of chairing the current session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, stressing Iraq’s keenness to provide all support to the Republic of Gambia in a way that contributes to activating the effective presence of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the level of strengthening relations between Islamic countries at the political and economic level, developmental and cultural in order to serve the aspirations of the peoples of our Islamic countries.’

For his part, the President of the Re
public of Gambia, affirmed that his country, and throughout its presidency of the current session of the meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, will do everything in its power to activate unity and solidarity among the countries and peoples of our Islamic nation and to enhance cooperation between its countries at all levels.

Yesterday, Saturday, the fifteenth regular summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries was launched in the Gambian capital, Banjul, under the slogan (Strengthening unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development), with the participation of leaders, heads of state and government, and representatives of the fifty-seven member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Iraq participated in the summit with a delegation headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji, and its membership included the Acting Head of the Department of Internationa
l Organizations and Conferences, Fadel Al-Rahim, the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Muhammad Samir Al-Naqshbandi, Counselor Uday Abed, and Counselor Muhammad Khalaf the interim ChargĂ© d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in Senegal.”

Al-Sudani: The government’s measures contributed to increasing the national stock of wheat crops and achieving a surplus

Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received, today, Sunday, the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Baker Talabani, and a number of members of the region’s parliament, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki.

During the meeting, they followed up on agriculture files throughout Iraq, the agricultural season and the marketing season for agricultural yields, the quantities specified for receipt, and ways to absorb the increase in wheat cultivated areas for this year, in the governorates of the region and the rest of the governorates of Iraq.

The meeting also witnessed discussion of the conditions of water dams, including the four main dams in the Kurdistan region, and the importance of providing maintenance and sustainment requirements to preserve their storage capacity, in addition to the possibility of supporting the region’s farmers with modern agricultural machinery and technological techniques that facilitate agricult
ural production and raise its levels.

Al-Sudani reiterated to those present the importance of supporting the pillars of food security, which is no less important than other aspects of national security, pointing to the abundant rains this season, which enabled the cultivation of large areas with economic strategic crops, throughout Iraq.

He indicated that the government’s multiple measures had facilitated the receipt of crops and the speed of payment of amounts, and contributed to increasing the national stock of wheat crops and achieving the surplus. He explained that the joint committees would determine the quantities received from the region, in addition to assigning a specialized team, from the relevant ministries and departments, to follow up on the conditions of the dams and manage their projects with the most appropriate way.

Al-Sudani also stressed that the development of agriculture according to the best management of water resources is one of the goals of the government program, and one of the pa
ths of economic reform and maximizing Iraq’s non-oil resources, and that the government is continuing to achieve this goal.

“THERE IS AN URGENT NEED FOR CONVERGENCE & COMMUNICATION,” BELIEVES HASHEM


Member of the ‘Development and Liberation’ parliamentary bloc, MP Kassem Hashem, hoped that ‘the glorious Easter occasion will be an essential juncture for us to be inspired by the meanings and values ??of the Resurrection to get our country out of the bitter reality that has afflicted political life, with its negative repercussions and effects impacting all the Lebanese.”

He considered that it is no longer possible to continue on this downward path, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression with its increasing pace, the fall of martyrs and widening ??destruction areas.

Hashem stressed that “the need has become urgent for convergence and communication between the political components to search for solutions to the crises, the basis of which is ending the state of vacuum in the country in order to reorganize the work of institutions so that they can take their role in addressing the accumulated and worsening political, security, economic and social files.”

His words came as he was paying popular visits on
Sunday to the Marjayoun and Hasbaya district to offer his Easter well-wishes to those following the Eastern calendar.

Al-Maliki: Iraq Is Open To All Countries Of The World

The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed today, Sunday, Iraq’s openness to all countries of the world, especially Arab and Islamic countries.

A statement by the media office of the head of the State of Law coalition stated, ‘Al-Maliki received in his office today the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari,’ noting that ‘the two sides reviewed issues of common interest, as well as the latest developments in the political and security situation taking place in the regional and international arenas.’

The head of the State of Law coalition pointed out that “Iraq is open to all countries of the world, especially Arab and Islamic countries, and its relations are based on common interests in various fields.”

In turn, Ambassador Al-Shammari stressed, ‘The Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen communication mechanisms with Iraq in various fields, and to support efforts that aim to consolidate the foundations of constructive cooperation between the two countries in serv

Hamas announces the end of the round of negotiations in Cairo

The Palestinian Hamas Movement announced today, Sunday, the end of the current round of negotiations in Cairo, and the Movement’s delegation will leave Egypt, tonight, to consult with the movement’s leadership, pointing to its insistence on reaching an agreement to end the ‘aggression’ in Gaza.

The Movement said on its Telegram channel: ‘The current round of negotiations in Cairo ended a short while ago, and the Hamas delegation will leave Cairo tonight to consult with the movement’s leadership.’

It added, “The Movement affirms its positive and responsible approach, and its keenness and determination to reach an agreement that meets the national demands of our people, ends the aggression completely, achieves withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip, returns the displaced, intensifies relief, begins reconstruction, and completes the prisoner exchange deal.

(215) defendants arrested, including (154) violators of residency conditions in Karkh side of Baghdad

The security forces arrested (215) defendants, including (154) violators of the conditions and controls of the Department of Residency and Nationality, and seized weapons, ammunition, and other materials on l-Karkh side of Baghdad.

A statement by the Ministry of Interior said that (215) defendants were arrested, including (154) foreigners who violated the conditions and controls of the Department of Residency, and others for criminal crimes (drugs, theft, possession of unlicensed weapons), in addition to seizing a number of weapons, ammunition, and other prohibited materials.

The statement added: ‘Search and inspection operations are continuing in other areas on Karkh and Rusafa sides as part of the plans drawn up to enhance security and stability and with the aim of pursuing organized crime gangs and outlaws, implementing judicial arrest warrants, and protecting community peace and the security and safety of citizens.

Al-Sudani chairs a meeting to follow up on the work of the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI)

Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired today, Sunday, a meeting to discuss and evaluate the work of the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI), and its contributions to the financing and economic development of the country, in the presence of the Minister of Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the General Director of the Bank, and a number of advisors.

Al-Sudani pointed out the importance of the role of the Iraqi Trade Bank in supporting government institutions and the private sector, and its role, as a banking institution, in supporting and revitalizing the Iraqi economy, stressing the government’s keenness to develop the bank’s work and address the problems and obstacles it faces.

The meeting witnessed confirmation of the adoption of a road map that enables the bank to facilitate the collection of bad debts owed by borrowers, according to flexible and fair principles. This is to develop the operations of the Trade Bank of Iraq to the best levels, in line with the requirements of the government p
rogram in developing banking credit and developing this sector, and ensuring the pace of growth and progress in the Iraqi economy.

Al-Araji discusses with the UN representative in Iraq the political and security developments in the region

The National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, met in his office today, Sunday, with the UN representative in Iraq, Jeanine Plasschaert.

The National Security Chencellry stated in a statement, “The meeting discussed the latest political and security developments in the region, as well as continuing cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the international community, in the field of combating terrorism and the humanitarian file.”

The statement added, “The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the file of the Syrian Al-Hawl camp, the importance of ending it completely, and the United Nations procedures in this regard.
