HAJ HASSAN TOURS “ENVIRONMENT and AGRICULTURE WEEK 2024 EXHIBITION” IN RIYADH


During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Caretaker Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Haj Hassan, toured the ‘Arena’ center in Riyadh, where the annual “Environment and Agriculture Week 2024 Exhibition” is currently taking place.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness of various segments of society in the Kingdom on local environments and the correct environmental behaviors that must be practiced to maintain the sustainability of their resources. It also aims to spread environmental awareness and community agricultural culture, achieve environmental sustainability, preserve natural resources, and reduce pollution of all kinds.

Haj Hassan’s tour came upon an invitation by the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, where he commended “the role that the Kingdom plays at home and abroad in working to mitigate global warming and expand green spaces, through internal projects carried out by the Ministry that are in harmony with the Green Middle East Project, which aims to plant 10 billion trees in Saudi Arabia and
40 billion trees in the Middle East.”

Moayad Al-Lami on the anniversary of World Press Freedom Day: The coming will be big for all members of our Iraqi journalistic family

The Head of the Union of Arab Journalists and Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, praised the anniversary of World Press Freedom Day.

Al-Lami wrote, in a tweet, ‘As we celebrate World Press Freedom Day, we remember the efforts of the dear members of the generous Iraqi journalistic family in building a democratic Iraqi state, and especially the martyrs of the Iraqi press from 2003 until now, who numbered more than 500 journalist martyrs at the hands of blind terrorism and security forces.’ The occupation, including those who confronted the terrorist organization ISIS and conveyed the image of their blind darkness and contributed to conveying the courage and sacrifices of the brave Iraqi fighters from our military and security forces, the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Peshmerga, gave their lives in order to consolidate the concepts of freedom of opinion and expression and to defend Iraq.

Al-Lami added, ‘Just as we do not forget the martyrs of the press in Palestine, especially the
martyrs of our beloved Gaza at the hands of the brutal occupation forces, we salute their pure souls and salute their honorable families, and our great support for them will continue in the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and through the Union of Arab Journalists, which stood up for its people in Palestine, and it is a message to the world,’ Stop the aggression and killing of civilians.

Al-Lami continued, ‘Greetings to all journalists around the world from their brothers in Iraq and the Arab countries. Our hearts are together. We will not forget any oppressed person everywhere. What is coming will be great in supporting the members of our Iraqi journalistic family in various fields of life. Thank you for every supportive, helpful and supportive stance towards journalists in Iraq and journalists around the world.

Bahraini Team clinches second place in inaugural Arab Camel Racing Cup

The Bahraini national team secured second place at the inaugural Arab Camel Racing Cup held last Friday at the Al Ula Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Bahraini Camel racing team clinched the second spot in the overall rankings of the first Arab Camel Racing Cup, accumulating 21 points behind the Saudi team, which claimed the championship title in the Arab Camel Racing Federation’s inaugural event, with the UAE team securing third place.

“Shaheen,” owned by Khalifa Al Qaoud, claimed first place in the sixth round, known as the “Jathaa Qaadan Cup.” Additionally, “Al Sairami,” owned by Saud Faisal Shareem, secured first place in the eighth round, known as the ” Thanaya Qaadan Cup.”

Continuing Bahrain’s successes in the inaugural edition of the Arab Camel Racing Cup, “Musaieed,” owned by Khalifa Abdullah Al Qaoud, claimed first place in the ninth round, known as the “Zamoul Cup.”

All Bahraini achievements were in the races designated for robot jockey.

Following the races, Prince Fahad Bin Jal
awi, VP of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, President of the Saudi Camel Federation (SCRF) and President of the International Camel Racing Federation (ICRF), honoured the Bahraini delegation led by Ali Mohammed Al Fadhel, Deputy Chairman of the Bahraini Committee for Heritage Sports, and Mohammed Ayed Al Marri, a board member of the Bahraini Committee for Heritage Sports and the Manager of the Camel Racing Team, with three gold cups for the three rounds won by the Bahraini team.

The inaugural Arab Camel Racing Cup marks the beginning of the Arab Camel Racing Federation’s activities, comprising 13 rounds with a total prize of 3 million Saudi riyals. Bahrain participated with 40 registered Camels under the Bahraini Committee for Heritage Sports.

Sixteen Arab teams competed in the championship across 13 rounds. The races included distances of 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 kilometers, with three rounds in the endurance race category (two for men and one for women) and ten rounds for the general category (robot jockey
) for the registered Camels in the Bakkar and Qaadan categories, namely, ” Hail, Thanaya Bakkar, Zamoul, and Thanaya Qaadan.’

Popular Mobilization Forces seize a large quantity of weapons and equipment north of Muqdadiya in Diyala

A force from the Special Forces Regiment in the Diyala Operations Sector Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out, on Friday, a qualitative security operation north of Muqdadiya.

Operations Commander Talib al-Moussawi said in a statement: ‘According to intelligence information, a force from the Special Forces Regiment set out to secure the areas of al-Asyoud orchards, north of Muqdadiya.’

He stressed: ‘The operation achieved its set goals after seizing quantities of heavy and light weapons, including a number of 120 mm mortars, an 82 mm mortar, nine 60 mm mortars, 24 hand grenades, an RBk machine gun, 17 RBG7 rocket charges, and various quantities of ammunition, explosives, and first aid materials.

30k worshipers perform Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Occupied Jerusalem: Despite the Israeli occupation authorities’ severe military measures on the mosque’s gates and the entrances to the Old City in occupied Jerusalem, 30,000 worshippers performed Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a statement, the Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem estimated that over 30,000 worshippers from Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the 1948-occupied Palestinian territories performed Friday prayer inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.

IRAN ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF THE CREW OF THE SHIP LINKED TO ISRAEL


Iran has released all crew members of the MSC Aries, a square ship equivalent to 15,000 TEU, which was seized by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps last month, according to “Russia Today”.

Speaking to Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the detained ship had switched off its transponders in Iran’s territorial waters and endangered “navigation security.”

The ship linked to Israel remains anchored near three other ships seized by Iranian special forces.

Abdollahian said that his country released 25 crew members of the ship MSC ARIES, which is partly owned by Israel, noting that the crew members were released for humanitarian reasons.

Man drowns in Kafranja dam in Ajloun

Ajloun: A young man in his twenties drowned inside the Kafranja Dam Friday night.

A statement was released by Dr. Qablan Al-Sharif, Governor of Ajloun and the Chairman of the Civil Defense Committee, stating that the diving teams in the directorate dealt with a drowning accident involving a twenty-year-old man who was found dead inside the Kafranja Dam after he was swimming with four other young men.

Dr. Al-Sharif went on to say that after the drowning victim’s body was found, it was taken to Al-Iman Governmental Hospital and forensic medicine was tasked to determine the circumstances of the accident.

ISLAMIC COOPERATION ORGANIZATION WELCOMES THE DECISION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO TO RECOGNIZE THE STATE OF PALESTINE


In an issued statement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomed the decision of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to recognize the State of Palestine, considering that ‘this important step is consistent with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, and contributes to enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, including their right to return and self-determination, embodying the establishment of an independent State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.’

The Organization renewed its call on all countries of the world that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine ‘to take the initiative to announce their recognition of the State of Palestine as soon as possible, in support of international efforts aimed at ending the Israeli occupation and achieving peace and stability in the region on the basis of the two-state solution and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.’
