Amman: Authorities are intensifying efforts to address illegal littering and safeguard public parks, forests, and tourist sites across the Kingdom. The Public Security Directorate (PSD) is enhancing both field and automated monitoring systems to combat this issue.

According to Jordan News Agency, the PSD recorded 43,495 littering violations by the end of July using electronic and automated surveillance systems. These violations encompass 28,599 cases originating from vehicles and 9,342 offenses recorded under the Waste Management Framework Law. Additionally, 5,331 marine protection offenses were reported in the Aqaba Marine Reserve, alongside 223 incidents involving illegal debris dumping.

The PSD has confirmed that enforcement measures will be intensified during weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods, with a particular focus on popular recreational and natural areas. To support these efforts, the PSD is also increasing media outreach and community engagement programs aimed at fostering sustainable environmental practices and promoting tidier public spaces.
