Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalaileh on Sunday inaugurated the 46th International Scientific Session on the Explanation of the Contents of the Amman Message. The event, organized by King Abdullah II Institute for the Training of Imams and Preachers, saw participation of scholars and thinkers representing 40 Arab and foreign countries.

According to Jordan News Agency, addressing the conference, Khalaileh stated that the Amman Message, launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II in 2004, reflects Islam's moderate principles in facilitating life transactions and alleviating hardships for people in need. The message aims to achieve religious and worldly interests and serves as a global human and moral charter for peaceful coexistence.

Khalaileh emphasized Jordan's responsibility in defending Islam and explaining the eternal contents of the Amman Message to clarify the true nature of Islam. He noted the Hashemite role in conveying Islam's message to all peoples, a commitment that has been part of Jordan's approach since the reign of the founding King Abdullah I and continues with His Majesty King Abdullah II. The minister highlighted the King's dedication to emphasizing Islam's role in building human civilization and contributing to its development.

Speaking on behalf of this year's participating countries, Dr. Abd Rauf Muhammad Amin, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar Indonesia, highlighted the importance of the Amman Message. Amin described it as a comprehensive call amid confused concepts and multiple interpretations, noting that the message, which enjoys the King's support, has become a beacon for the Islamic world and a symbol of moderation and balance.
