Amman, The Awqaf Ministry condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by a leader of an extremist party in Stockholm on Saturday.
The Ministry rejected this act as a crime and an insult to the feeling of every Muslim on the face of the earth and an attack on their holy book.
“This heinous crime would inflame feelings of anger and hatred among the peoples of the world and impede the course of religious coexistence among people,” the Ministry said in a statement.
It urged states to respect religions and stop those who tamper with the sacred religious symbols and targeting them, especially the Holy Quran, the book of God due to its specialty and holiness for all Muslims.
