Awqaf Ministry Launches 3,000 Quran Memorization Summer Centers Nationwide

Amman: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, has initiated the launch of approximately 3,000 summer centers dedicated to Quran memorization for both males and females, with the program being completely free of charge.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two-month program, themed "A Cleaner Environment and a More Refined Society," was inaugurated at King Hussein Gardens by Dr. Mohammad Khalaileh, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. Dr. Khalaileh emphasized that this year's centers are part of a "comprehensive" educational and national initiative designed to promote Islamic values as practical behavioral practices.

The partnership with the Ministry of Environment aims to integrate environmental conservation into the teachings of Islam. Dr. Khalaileh highlighted that the Holy Quran extends beyond memorization and recitation, urging individuals to act righteously and protect the earth.

The initiative includes activities focused on environmental cleanliness and the preservation of public facilities, with cleanliness being a "religious, cultural, and health value" that signifies societal advancement. The ministry anticipates that over 200,000 students will benefit from these centers nationwide, under the guidance of qualified male and female instructors.

Additional activities within the program encompass cultural and religious competitions, sports events, and volunteer clean-up campaigns near mosques and summer centers. Classes for males will occur on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and for females on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, all held in mosque courtyards and Quranic centers.

The ministry has detailed the approved locations and the names of supervisors on its website and official social media platforms.
