Ayla Concludes Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Tournament.

Aqaba: The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, one of the largest amateur golf tournaments worldwide, concluded on Friday, November 8, according to a statement. Hosted for the first time at the Ayla Golf Club in Aqaba, the tournament saw extensive participation from both local and international players. According to Jordan News Agency, Steve Clifton took first place with a score of 38 points, followed by Joe Mendoza in second with 36 points and Yahya Barakat in third with 35 points. Reflecting on the event, Sahl Dudin, Managing Director of Ayla Oasis Golf Company, expressed pride in hosting the prestigious tournament in partnership with Turkish Airlines, further establishing Ayla as a premier golf destination globally. Dudin added that Ayla was fully prepared to host this thrilling tournament and hoped it would pave the way for future competitions that can help uncover new talent in golf. Taner Erem, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Aqaba, noted the delight in bringing the event to Aqaba for the first ti me, expressing hopes of it becoming a fixture on the local sports calendar. Among 118 qualifying tournaments held in 67 countries, the winners will advance to the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup final, scheduled for December at the Gloria Serenity Resort in Antalya, Turkey. Ayla has become a premier destination for major golf events, having previously organised the Ayla Mixed Golf Championship and the "Journey to Jordan" MENA Tour. Ayla's award-winning golf course covers 800,000 square meters and features lush fairways, crystal-clear lakes, varied elevations, and strategically placed holes that offer unique challenges.
