Balqa Applied University Partners with Pearson to Elevate Technical Education and Workforce Skills

Balqa: Balqa Applied University has signed a strategic partnership agreement with global education company Pearson aimed at enhancing vocational training and technical education, as part of efforts to develop workforce skills and align educational outcomes with labor market demands. The agreement reflects the university's ongoing drive to expand international partnerships and strengthen the quality of applied and technical education through the adoption of globally recognized standards and training methodologies.

According to Jordan News Agency, the partnership focuses on developing students' practical and technical competencies through specialized training programs, while also providing professional development opportunities designed to enhance the capabilities of academic staff and improve teaching and training practices. University President Ahmad Fakhri Al-Ajlouni discussed with the Pearson delegation opportunities to deepen cooperation in advancing applied and technical education and supporting the modernization of educational and training systems.

Al-Ajlouni said the agreement represents an important step in supporting the development of technical and vocational education and strengthening the preparedness of graduates for a rapidly evolving labor market. He noted that the university, as the national reference institution for technical and applied education, continues to broaden its international partnerships to improve academic programs, enhance training quality and increase graduate employability.

The two sides also explored opportunities to develop curricula and educational programs in line with Pearson's international standards, while discussing the introduction of specialized technical programs tailored to the needs of local and regional labor markets. The proposed initiatives aim to equip students with skills relevant to future occupations and support efforts to bridge the gap between education outcomes and employer requirements.
