Amman: The Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) have reached an agreement to organize a visit for a Brazilian trade delegation to Jordan this summer, in collaboration with the Jordanian Embassy in Brazil. This initiative aims to strengthen economic relations between the two nations.

According to Jordan News Agency, JCC Chairman Khalil Haj Tawfiq, during a remote meeting with Jordanian Ambassador to Brazil, Ma'an Masa'adah, and ABCC Secretary-General, Mohammad Murad, expressed the chamber's readiness to host the Brazilian trade delegation. The JCC plans to facilitate the delegation's mission by arranging meetings with the Jordanian trade sector and organizing visits to various government institutions and Jordanian companies. Arab businesspeople, both from Arab countries and those residing in Jordan, will also be invited to participate in these discussions.

Haj Tawfiq highlighted the upcoming visit as an opportunity to explore investment opportunities and build partnerships in targeted sectors. He emphasized the importance of enhancing mutual trade exchange and expanding joint investments. Dialogues with the Jordanian commercial sector are expected to play a significant role in fostering cooperation and developing joint business ventures.

Furthermore, Haj Tawfiq underscored the need to frame bilateral economic relations by expanding cooperation in various economic sectors, developing trade collaboration areas, and establishing joint partnerships and investments. He also emphasized the strategic location of Jordan as a vital link between Arab and global markets.

Haj Tawfiq revealed that Jordanian-Brazilian exports and imports grew by 17% last year, indicating the Jordanian commercial sector's interest in Brazilian goods such as wood, foodstuffs, textiles, and the information technology sector. Meanwhile, Brazil is keen on increasing its imports of Jordanian medicines and fertilizers.
