Amman: The effect of the bitter polar air mass is set to deepen over the next three days, as temperatures continue to drop "significantly" and rain is forecast in the Kingdom's northern and central areas, as well as limited parts of the east and southwest regions. Light and spotty snow showers are expected for short periods, which may accumulate "ineffectively" over peaks, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) in its daily update. According to Jordan News Agency, the JMD warns of the risk of low horizontal visibility due to fog and low clouds, especially over mountainous heights. There is also a warning for frost formation in the early morning and late night hours, which may lead to slippery roads. On Sunday, another drop in mercury is expected, with a weak chance of light and scattered snowfall in the Kingdom's western parts during the early morning hours. As for Monday, light showers could fall in the early morning, while the mountainous heights will see limited snow showers. Today, tem peratures in the capital city of Amman are expected to hit a high of 6 degrees Celsius and a low of 1 degree Celsius, while the port city of Aqaba will experience a warmer climate with daytime temperatures reaching 81 degrees Fahrenheit, dropping to 10 degrees Celsius at night.
