Brexit’s cost reaches 30 billion pounds

The huge financial cost of Britain's exit from the European Union (Brexit) in 2020 has reached more than 30 billion pounds. The Independent revealed on Saturday that Britain has so far paid 24 billion pounds "about 30 billion dollars" to Brussels, and it still has to pay an additional 6.4 billion pounds, bringing the total to more than 30 billion pounds, equivalent to about 40 billion dollars. The British newspaper pointed out that this revelation comes at a sensitive time, as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer faces increasing pressure to reveal the true cost of Brexit, amid his government's attempts to fill a large financial gap of up to 22 billion pounds in the budget, a crisis inherited from the previous Conservative government.
