Amman:Bulgaria and Jordan have identified significant opportunities to enhance their cooperation in various sectors, including trade, agriculture, the food and pharmaceutical industries, and technology, as stated by Bulgarian Ambassador to Jordan Metin Kazak.
According to Jordan News Agency, Ambassador Kazak made these remarks during a reception at the Bulgarian Embassy in Amman, celebrating Bulgaria's National Day. He emphasized the longstanding cultural and personal ties between the two countries, which have been strengthened by Jordanians who have studied in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian community residing in Jordan.
Kazak also highlighted the embassy's collaboration with the Association of Bulgarian University Alumni in Jordan, describing it as a vital link between the nations. Furthermore, he affirmed the embassy's commitment to supporting the Saints Cyril and Methodius Bulgarian School in Amman, aiming to promote Bulgarian culture and education.
Addressing broader geopolitical issues, Kazak noted the challenges faced globally and in the Middle East, stressing the importance of dialogue, moderation, and adherence to international law. He reiterated the shared belief of Bulgaria and Jordan in resolving the Palestinian issue through a two-state solution grounded in international law and relevant UN resolutions.
Kazak praised Jordan, under King Abdullah II's leadership, for its efforts in fostering peace and stability in the region. He expressed Bulgaria's interest in enhancing economic relations with Jordan across various sectors of mutual interest.
The event at the Fairmont Amman was attended by Minister of State for Public Sector Affairs Badria Al-Balbeisi, Jordan's Honorary Consul in Bulgaria Hassan Barmawi, as well as other officials, ambassadors, journalists, and guests.
