Amman: The Cabinet announced after a session on Sunday the formation of the Greater Amman Municipality Committee, effective tomorrow, Monday, July 7, 2025, until a new municipal council is elected and appointed.
According to Jordan News Agency, the committee will be chaired by Yousef Shawarbeh and comprises representatives from various sectors: the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Environment, the Department of Lands and Survey, the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, the Traffic Department at the Public Security Directorate (PSD), the Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna), the Jordan Electricity Company, and the Jordanian Engineers Association.
The committee also includes a representative from the Ministry of Local Administration, the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and the Amman Chamber of Industry.
