Amman: Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labor, Dr. Abdul Halim Doujan, has confirmed that there will be no future changes to the exemptions outlined in the Cabinet's decision regarding the regularization period for undocumented non-Jordanian workers.
According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Doujan emphasized in a statement issued by the ministry that the Cabinet's decision includes significant exemptions for employers and undocumented non-Jordanian workers across various sectors and economic activities. This encompasses a 50% reduction in work permit fees for all previous periods, including those for domestic workers.
Furthermore, the decision provides relief to employers and non-Jordanian workers by exempting them from 100% of late unpaid fees when renewing expired work permits or transferring to another employer. The exemptions are applicable across various sectors and economic activities.
Dr. Doujan highlighted that undocumented non-Jordanian workers, who fall under the provisions of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Law, are also exempted from 100% of overstay fines if they rectify their status during the regularization period. Additionally, those wishing to leave the Kingdom permanently without return are relieved from all work permit fees and fines up to their departure date.
He also mentioned that the ministry plans to deport all non-Jordanian workers who fail to rectify their status in accordance with the provisions of the Labor and Residency and Foreigners Affairs Laws, starting from October 1st. An inspection campaign will be conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate to apprehend and deport any violators immediately.
