Amman: The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has issued a stern warning to citizens, advising them to steer clear of companies that claim to double their money in unreasonably short periods of time and falsely assert that they are licensed by the CBJ and hold deposits with them. According to Jordan News Agency, the CBJ clarified that these companies are not licensed by the central bank, nor do they have any deposits held with it. The bank has urged citizens to verify the legitimacy of companies by visiting its official website. This advisory is part of an effort to protect citizens from potential scams and fraudulent activities. The warning follows a surge in advertisements by certain companies on social media platforms, which falsely promote these money-doubling schemes. The CBJ highlighted the critical importance of protecting citizens' financial interests and preventing them from falling victim to fraud and scams that could lead to significant financial losses.
