Balqa: Civil Defense divers of the Balqa Civil Defense Directorate on Sunday pulled a girl and evacuated the dead body of another child who were swept away by flash floods in the region, west of Amman. According to Jordan News Agency, the Public Security Directorate's (PSD) media spokesman stated that the two girls were standing in a valley when heavy downpours triggered flash floods and mud that swept them away. The spokesman noted the efforts of response teams, who arrived quickly, rescued the girl and rushed her to hospital, where she was listed in a fair condition. He added that the body of the other child was found after a search of a 7-kilometer area. The PSD has urged the local people for caution and to stay clear of low-lying areas and valleys, and to call for help during emergencies.
