‘Clear’ mechanism set to debate constitutional amendments-House panel

The Lower House Legal Committee held its first meeting on Sunday, headed by Abdel Moneim Awdat, during which mechanisms for its work in the next phase were outlined.

Awdat said the committee had set a “clear” work agenda to discuss the constitutional amendments and the elections and party laws, which were referred to the panel, with an “urgency status”.

To engage the concerned stakeholders, the lawmaker said the committee is “keen” to listen to all viewpoints from various experts, and appreciates the different opinions, which seek to serve national interests.

Awdat added: “We will make sure to listen to all in an extensive and in-depth manner to reach the best outcomes aimed to strengthen Jordan’s reform process.”
