Crown Prince Al Hussein Engages in Strategic Talks with President Macron on Regional Issues

Paris: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II met with France President Emmanuel Macron at Elys©e Palace on Wednesday, where they discussed the enduring ties between Jordan and France, alongside recent regional developments.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Crown Prince conveyed His Majesty's greetings and appreciation to President Macron for France's efforts to end the war on Gaza and its role in mobilizing international support for the recognition of the state of Palestine. The meeting explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and reviewed existing partnerships.

His Royal Highness highlighted the strength of Jordanian-French relations, which span nearly eight decades, and acknowledged France's role in fostering partnerships between the private sectors of both countries. He also noted France's support for the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination Project.

On regional matters, the Crown Prince emphasized the necessity for increased efforts to achieve calm in the region and a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

His Royal Highness reaffirmed Jordan's support for the stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Syria and Lebanon. Her Royal Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein and France's First Lady Brigitte Macron attended part of the meeting. The French president hosted an official luncheon in honor of the Crown Prince.
