Amman: The second edition of the Maker Collective Forum is set to launch tomorrow at Al Hussein Cultural Center and Ras Al-Ain Hangar in Amman, organized by the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) as part of its FabLab initiative.
According to Jordan News Agency, the forum will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is open to visitors of all ages free of charge. The event serves as an interactive platform for innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, students, hobbyists, and enthusiasts in digital fabrication to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and empower Jordan's maker and innovation community.
The Foundation announced that the forum will feature an exhibition with over 114 exhibitors, including innovators, startups, and academic institutions showcasing their projects and products. The program includes six free hands-on workshops in fields such as design, digital manufacturing, 3D printing, and handicrafts, alongside interactive activities for all ages.
A highlight of the event is the "Idea Elevator" experience, where participants can present their ideas or initiatives in one minute, aiming to encourage creative thinking and document innovative ideas. Outstanding participants will receive mentorship and project development opportunities through the Foundation's programs.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experiment with digital fabrication tools like 3D printers and CNC machines to learn about prototyping and product development. The forum will also introduce the "Makers Map," a national digital platform in Jordan connecting fabrication labs, universities, and business incubators.
Panel discussions and knowledge sessions at the Hussein Cultural Center - Aqel Beltaji Theater will feature local and international experts discussing innovation topics such as technology's role in medical treatment design, sustainability in fashion, and the impact of 3D printing on innovation.
Featured speakers include Daniel Ingrassia, founder of In-Machines, who will share his experience in designing open-source digital fabrication machines used globally.
The forum will highlight entrepreneurial stories and tech startups in creativity and modern technologies, with sessions streamed live on the Crown Prince Foundation's Facebook and YouTube pages.
Participants will also benefit from the "Experts' Corner," offering mentorship sessions with more than 16 experts in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Crown Prince Foundation is hosting the event to strengthen collaboration among key players in Jordan's innovation ecosystem, promoting technologies like digital fabrication and expanding economic opportunities across the Kingdom.
