Dams Receive 3.6 Million Cubic Meters of Water

Amman: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation - Jordan Valley Authority has announced that recent unstable weather conditions have resulted in 3.6 million cubic meters of water flowing into the Kingdom's dams. This influx has increased the total water storage to 49.5 million cubic meters, which constitutes 17.2 percent of the dams' full capacity of 288.128 million cubic meters.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry released a press statement on Sunday indicating that the seasonal rainfall has now reached 12.5 percent of the long-term annual average of approximately 8.1 billion cubic meters. The city of Aqaba experienced the highest amount of rainfall, with a measurement of 36.9 mm.
