According to Anadolu Agency - English, Frederiksen criticized Trump's remarks about revisiting the Greenland issue within 20 days, describing them as undue pressure and an unreasonable attack on the international community. She dismissed Trump's national security claims as invalid, asserting that the US cannot lay claim to a part of Denmark's kingdom without consent.
Frederiksen highlighted the unified opposition from Denmark, Greenland, and European allies, who have all expressed their disapproval of the US stance. She reiterated the importance of respecting existing borders and emphasized the steps taken by Denmark and Greenland to bolster security in the Arctic region.
Denmark's prime minister called for the US to cease threats against its close ally, underscoring that the US has no legal grounds to annex Greenland, which remains an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
