Deputizing for King, Waqf Minister Leads Hijri New Year Celebration

Amman: Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Waqf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh on Wednesday led a celebration on the new Hijri year at Martyr King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein Mosque's Islamic Cultural Center. In a sermon, Khalayleh emphasized the significance of the Prophet Mohammad's hijra (migration) to Medina, highlighting its role in realizing the concept of succession on earth and fulfilling worship in its comprehensive nature, encompassing all aspects of life.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khalayleh noted that Islam aims to preserve life, as illustrated by the Prophet's teachings during the migration, which encouraged the use of energies, experiences, and competencies. He remarked on the Prophet's dedication to the migration's success, emphasizing the involvement of men, women, and youth in achieving its goals and demonstrating that collective efforts lead to success for the ummah (Muslim nation).

The minister also reflected on the hardships faced by the Prophet and his companions, acknowledging the harm and injustice they endured. However, he emphasized that empowerment, victory, and relief eventually came to the Islamic ummah through patience and cooperation. Khalayleh extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the royal family, and Jordanians on this holy occasion.

Chief Justice Sheikh Abdul Hafiz Rabtah also addressed the ceremony, stating that the Prophet's migration marks the beginning of the Muslim nation's history. He described it as a model of divine support and highlighted the Prophet's role as a human leader who exemplified patience and wisdom.
