Amman: The domestic tourism program, "Urdunna Jannah" (Our Jordan is Paradise), has drawn roughly 158,000 tourists across 4,900 trips nationwide since its launch, according to a Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities statement released Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative energized the local economy by engaging 139 travel agencies, 4,900 tour guides and buses, 98 restaurants, and 95 hotels and tourist camps. Additionally, 1,315 tourists utilized direct booking services using their private vehicles.
Jordan's Golden Triangle, comprising Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba, led overnight stays, accounting for more than 57,600 beneficiaries and nearly 59,000 overnight bookings. Wadi Rum recorded over 26,000 nights, followed by Petra with 21,500 nights and Aqaba with 6,900 nights, while the remaining stays were spread across other governorates.
Beyond traditional hotspots, newer destinations such as Iraq al-Amir, Umm ar-Rasas, and Rihab also saw rising interest, demonstrating the program's success in diversifying domestic travel across the Kingdom.
