The Kingdom, on Friday, will remain under the impact of the dry and hot heatwave that started affecting the country yesterday, pushing temperatures 4 to 5 degrees above their annual average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

The JMD warned the public against exposure to the sun during the heatwave.

The heatwave, which is caused by a hot and dry air mass originating from the Arabian Peninsula, will gradually start abating over the next 48 hours.

Temperatures in the capital will reach a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius during the day and dropping to a minimum of 22 degrees at night.

Temperatures in the badia, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba will reach highs of 42, 43 and 43 degrees respectively.

A slight drop in temperatures is forecast for Saturday and Sunday, but the weather will remain hot and dry.
