Economic Affairs Minister: Industry a Key Driver of National Economy

Amman: Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh stated on Monday that the industrial sector plays a pivotal role in driving Jordan's national economy.

According to Jordan News Agency, Shehadeh made these remarks during sectoral workshops aimed at preparing the second executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) for 2026-2029, which was dedicated to the industrial sector and held at the Prime Ministry. He emphasized that the vision surpasses governmental terms, aligning with the economic policy of Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan's administration, which prioritizes industry due to its significant influence on domestic economic indicators.

Shehadeh highlighted the importance of adopting actionable initiatives and work plans with specific timelines to make a tangible impact on the national economy and all branches of industry, particularly concerning GDP contribution and job creation. He also noted the opportunities available in the sector, evidenced by record national export figures to Syria, Iraq, and other Arab and international markets.
