Amman: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced that approximately 3,115 families of martyrs from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security services will benefit from a recent cabinet decision to install solar photovoltaic systems in their homes.
According to Jordan News Agency, the decision involves awarding bids for the project following the receipt of beneficiary lists from the Personnel Affairs Directorate/Social Support Division. Each home will receive a 3.6-kilowatt solar system, contingent upon the property being owned by a beneficiary, regardless of its location within or outside municipal boundaries.
For homes located in multi-apartment buildings, the ministry requires a no-objection letter from the building's residents. Beneficiaries must also provide site documents and a clearance certificate from the electricity distribution company.
The ministry emphasized that the cabinet's decision, approved on Sunday, is part of national efforts to honor the families of fallen servicemembers. It aims to alleviate their burdens while simultaneously promoting the use of renewable energy.
