Amman: Minister of Education Dr. Azmi Mahafzah engaged in discussions with the British Ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in education and digital transformation.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, which took place at the ministry's headquarters, underscored the role of AI in literacy and its application in education. Minister Mahafzah emphasized the Ministry's swift integration of AI tools to boost student learning and mentioned the implementation of the BTEC vocational program in schools. This program currently offers 12 specializations and is planning to introduce three more next academic year to align with labor market needs.
Dr. Mahafzah highlighted that Jordan accommodates approximately 250,000 students from over 85 nationalities and is dedicated to providing quality education for all, despite challenges such as refugee influxes and regional issues. He also confirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting Syrian teachers through necessary training initiatives.
Ambassador Hall commended Jordan's educational efforts and reiterated ongoing support for initiatives aimed at improving education for Syrian refugees. He noted plans to build on existing achievements while considering the current developments in Syria.
