Amman: Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Sahar Shakhatra, highlighted the ministry's dedication to advancing vocational and technical education, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping the future of individuals and society. According to Jordan News Agency, Shakhatra spoke at the closing ceremony of the "Supporting the Improvement of the Quality of Education and Vocational Education in Jordan" project, held at Abdul Hamid Sharaf Vocational School. She underscored the necessity of vocational education in achieving sustainable development, noting its impact in addressing poverty and unemployment. Vocational education equips individuals with the competencies and skills needed to meet the demands of a dynamic labor market and rapid digital advancements. The event, attended by the Head of the European Union Mission, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, celebrated the project's achievements and its alignment with Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision and strategic education goals. Shakhatra mentioned that the European Union has been instrumental in this transformation by supporting vocational education and training initiatives. This support ensures that students' skills match evolving labor market needs and focuses on sectors that stimulate economic growth in Jordan. Shakhatra outlined the ministry's ongoing efforts to identify specializations that respond effectively to labor market demands. The aim is to produce a skilled and adaptable workforce capable of meeting the world's evolving professional and business challenges. She expressed gratitude to the European Union Commission for its support in strengthening vocational education, recognizing it as a national priority. The European Union's contributions include scholarships that provide vulnerable youth with access to vocational training opportunities, furthering the goal of inclusivity in education.
