Egypt’s aid airdrops continue on 2nd day of Ramadan on northern Gaza StripFRANGIEH BROACHES DEVELOPMENTS WITH PAPAL AMBASSADOR

Egypt continued its daily airdrops of humanitarian aid on the northern Gaza Strip on the second day of Ramadan, as part of its commitment to support the Palestinians, especially in the holy month, according to a statement on Tuesday 12/3/2024 by Egyptian Armed Forces Spokesman Gharib Abdel-Hafez. Egyptian military transport aircraft, following President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directives, alongside other craft from the countries participating in the international coalition have continued to airdrop aid on the affected areas in northern Gaza. The joint efforts of Jordan, UAE, and other nations reflect a collective commitment towards alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. Egypt has conducted multiple aid airdrops since the start of the Israeli blockade on Gaza, with the latest on Monday, the first day of Ramadan. Additionally, Egypt has been delivering aid via ground crossings - the Rafah border crossing and the Israel-controlled Karm Abu Salem crossing. The diminished supply of food and other aid has resulted in a significant slowdown, leading to the death of 25 Palestinians in Gaza due to malnutrition and dehydration, with the majority being children, according to a UN report referencing the Palestinian health ministry. "The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) shows a concerning trajectory towards starvation - with 378,000 people at risk (in Gaza)," according to a statement by QU Dongyu, director-general of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, on Monday. Most of the Gazan population is currently facing the IPC Phase 3 Crisis, 'Acute malnutrition and even famine,' the statement added.
