Amman: An electronic draw was held at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship to select 6,000 young men born in 2007 for military service in the coming year, divided into three groups of 2,000 conscripts each.
According to Jordan News Agency, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Smeirat explained that the draw utilized a statistical algorithm to ensure fair distribution across the Kingdom's governorates, following comprehensive information security checks to protect conscripts' data.
The notification process for selected individuals will be conducted through the National Service platform (khidmetalam.gov.jo), the Sanad application, and SMS messages. Smeirat encouraged young men born in 2007 to review the platform for instructions and schedules. Data protection for those selected is ensured both electronically and in hard copy, with the information being forwarded to the Armed Forces after endorsement by a technical committee comprising representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy, the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, and the Civil Status and Passports Department.
Minister of Government Communication and Official Spokesperson for the Government Mohammad Momani added that the draw complies with the directives of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, emphasizing transparency and fairness through computerized systems. The National Service and Reserve Service Law has completed all constitutional requirements and has been published in the Official Gazette, with legal instructions for its implementation issued.
The program aims to foster national identity, discipline, and prepare young individuals to protect national achievements and contribute to development. Exemptions are specified for those who are the only child of a parent or deemed medically unfit by medical committees.
Colonel Ziad Khawaldeh, Head of the National Service and Reserve Service Division of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, detailed the upcoming recruitment phases, including medical tests scheduled for December 17 to 23, 2025, at four medical centers across the regions. Enlistment procedures will occur from January 11 to 22, 2026, with recruits reporting to training centers on January 31 for the commencement of training on February 1, 2026.
Training facilities are equipped with medical centers, surveillance systems, and a control room, allowing recruits to maintain contact with families through designated telephones. Recruits will receive a Royal Medical Services card for service duration and have designated leave after the first four weeks, with weekend leaves thereafter.
The draw and signing of meeting minutes were attended by the Ministers of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Interior, and Government Communication, along with the Head of the National Cybersecurity Center.
