Environment Ministry Partners with Arkaan Development for Sustainability Initiatives

Amman: Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman announced on Sunday the expansion of partnerships with Jordan's civil society institutions, emphasizing the shared responsibility of environmental protection. He stressed the importance of raising awareness and promoting positive practices as essential steps towards achieving sustainability. The announcement was made during the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Arkaan Development and Training to enhance cooperation in environmental awareness and education, capacity building, and community-based environmental initiatives, aligning with the Kingdom's sustainable development goals.

According to Jordan News Agency, Suleiman stated that the MoU would facilitate the implementation of specialized programs and initiatives aimed at promoting community participation in environmental protection. These initiatives are designed to align with national priorities and sustainable development goals. Arkaan General Manager Mohammad Al-Aidi highlighted that the partnership would result in awareness and training programs, as well as community initiatives to foster an environmental culture, encourage volunteerism, and build the capacities of young people and students.

Al-Aidi expressed confidence that these efforts would yield a positive and sustainable impact on society and the environment, expressing pride in collaborating with the Ministry of Environment. The MoU also ensures cooperation in implementing programs that promote environmental sustainability, recycling, and efficient use of water and energy. Furthermore, it includes provisions for the exchange of technical expertise in environmental education, capacity building for students and educational personnel, and joint environmental campaigns targeting local communities.

The agreement underscores a mutual commitment to strengthening integration between the public sector and civil society institutions, expanding cooperation on environmental and development initiatives. This collaboration is expected to contribute to a stronger culture of sustainability, supporting national efforts to protect the environment and achieve sustainable development.
