ESARSV Initiates Blood Bank for Military Retirees

Amman:The Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV) is taking steps to establish a blood bank dedicated to military retirees. This initiative is being developed in collaboration with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army General Command and the Jordanian Royal Medical Services (JRMS).

According to Jordan News Agency, the blood bank aims to maintain a reserve stock of blood to address emergency needs of retirees, ensuring the availability of units swiftly for utilization in JRMS's hospitals.

ESARSV Director General Maj. Gen. Adnan Raqqad stated that the initiative is part of the association's efforts to enhance services for its members, working alongside relevant national organizations. The project will be rolled out in phases, beginning with blood donation campaigns at the Princess Iman Center for Research and Laboratory in King Hussein Medical City. Retirees will benefit through mechanisms that are to be established.

This initiative will eventually extend to JRMS's hospitals throughout the governorates, with coordination from the appropriate authorities. Raqqad mentioned that ESARSV will announce the start date of the campaigns and the participation mechanisms once the technical procedures and arrangements have been finalized.
