Explosion at Oil Products Depot Injures Over 40 in Iraq’s Kurdistan

Sulaymaniyah: More than 40 people were injured on Tuesday after a major explosion at an oil products depot in Sulaymaniyah province in Iraq's Kurdistan region, local authorities said.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Sulaymaniyah Civil Defense Directorate reported that a fire erupted following an explosion at one of the province's oil products storage depots. Civil defense teams were dispatched to the site and managed to contain and extinguish the blaze using available equipment and vehicles.

"The final toll from the incident was more than 40 injuries among firefighting personnel, with one person in critical condition," it said. A committee has been formed to investigate the circumstances of the incident, determine the cause of the fire, and assess the resulting damage.
