Senate President, Faisal Fayez, said the Palestinian cause will remain Jordan’s top issue and no party could snub Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state on their national soil, or compromise Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian sanctities.

Speaking at a meeting on Wednesday, with a number of families of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons, Fayez noted any solutions to the Palestinian issue, which don’t restore Palestinian people’s full and legitimate rights, are “infeasible, nihilistic and rejected.”

Lauding and voicing support to the Palestinian people’s steadfastness and their struggle for liberation, Fayez noted thousands of Palestinian detainees and prisoners in Israel’s prisons suffer the worst forms of torture.

Referring to Jordan’s role in defending Palestine and its sanctities, he said: “Palestinian cause has continued to be at the forefront of Jordan’s priorities,” referring to the country’s scarifies to defend Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Fayez also highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II’s continued role towards Palestinian cause and Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state, as a top priority at various international forums.

The King’s efforts, he said, aimed to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause and establish a sovereign state on Palestinian national soil, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Fayez called on world human rights organizations to counter Israeli practices, which exacerbate Palestinian prisoners’ suffering, violate the most basic human rights rules and support Palestinians to restore their legitimate rights.
