Accra:Fenerbahce achieved a decisive 3-0 victory against Caykur Rizespor in an away match during the seventh week of the Turkish Super Lig. The win was secured with an early goal in the first half and two additional goals in the closing minutes of the game.
According to Anadolu Agency, the scoring opened in the 12th minute when Marco Asensio capitalized on a setup from Kerem Akturkoglu, following a pass by Matteo Guendouzi. Asensio's shot deflected off Mithat Pala before hitting the net, giving Fenerbahce a 1-0 lead.
Caykur Rizespor nearly equalized in the 27th minute through Olawoyin, whose shot inside the penalty area was blocked by Sow before goalkeeper Ederson secured the ball. Fenerbahce almost doubled their lead shortly after, when Akturkoglu broke through on goal, but was thwarted by goalkeeper Fofana in a one-on-one encounter. The first half concluded with Fenerbahce holding their 1-0 advantage.
In the second half, Caykur Rizespor pushed for an equalizer. Olawoyin's powerful attempt in the 52nd minute narrowly missed the post, and Pala's effort in the 62nd minute was saved by Ederson. Fenerbahce's Akturkoglu also threatened with a shot in the 69th minute, which was cleared off the goal line by Mithat Pala.
Fenerbahce extended their lead in the 83rd minute when Irfan Can Kahveci scored after receiving a pass from Oguz Aydin. Just four minutes later, Aydin secured the team's victory with a shot that struck the post and went in, following an assist from Romelu Lukaku.
The match concluded with Fenerbahce earning all three points through their strong finish. In other matches on Saturday, Genclerbirligi drew 2-2 with Amed SK, Alanyaspor and Erzurumspor ended in a goalless draw, and Trabzonspor defeated Samsunspor 3-0.
