Finland to Supply Ukraine with F-16 Ammunition, Says Zelenskyy

Kyiv:Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Finland is set to provide Ukraine with ammunition for F-16 fighter jets in the coming days. These supplies are expected to help counteract the impact of Russian jet-powered Shahed drones.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy made this announcement on the social media platform X after phone conversations with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and French President Emmanuel Macron. The discussions focused on Russian attacks on Kyiv and additional support for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy expressed concerns to Stubb about recent Russian strikes and the potential for increased Russian revenue from petroleum product exports to fund its military efforts. He highlighted an agreement involving US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning diesel supplies.

Stubb confirmed Finland's commitment to Ukraine, announcing the country's 35th support package. He emphasized Finland's efforts to protect Ukrainian civilians.

During his conversation with Macron, Zelenskyy discussed the dangers of easing restrictions on Russian oil products and stressed the necessity of additional air defense packages for Ukraine. He warned of the heightened risk of further Russian missile strikes.

Zelenskyy described a recent Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, accompanied by repeated drone strikes on energy facilities. He emphasized the detrimental effect of allowing Russia to sell oil products, noting that some missiles had been intercepted.

He warned that any additional revenue Russia gains from exports could be used for weapon production and military recruitment. Zelenskyy urged the US, Europe, and other partners to send stronger signals in support of Ukraine and limit Russia's ability to continue the conflict.
