FM Meets Norwegian Defence University College Delegation in Amman

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates' Affairs Ayman Safadi met with a delegation from the senior executive course at the Norwegian Defence University College, which includes representatives from various Norwegian ministries, institutions, and armed forces. The meeting was attended by the Norwegian ambassador to Amman.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi emphasized the robust ties between Jordan and Norway, highlighting the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation. He stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and called for the immediate and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to all areas of the besieged enclave.

In addition to the meeting with the Norwegian delegation, Safadi held talks with Canada's Special Envoy to Syria, Omar Alghabra, focusing on bilateral relations and coordination regarding developments in Syria. He underscored the importance of a "Syria-Syria" process that involves all components of Syrian society to ensure the country's unity, security, and stability, while eliminating terrorism and protecting the rights of its citizens.

Safadi reiterated Jordan's commitment to supporting Syria and expressed readiness to offer all possible assistance to aid the Syrian people during the transitional phase. He expressed hope that this period would signal the start of Syria's reconstruction as a sovereign and stable state that respects the rights of all its citizens.
