Amman: A delegation from Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Civil Service Office, led by Ambassador and Human Resources Management Advisor Songphol Sukchan, visited Jordan's Service and Public Administration Commission (SPAC) on Monday to learn about the country's experience in public administration reform and human resources management.

According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting, SPAC President Fayez Nahar outlined the commission's key roles, including policy development, setting standards, providing technical and advisory support, and overseeing government compliance with approved policies.

He highlighted major transformations in Jordan's public administration as part of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, which introduced a new governance approach based on centralized planning and decentralized implementation. The shift also established competency-based criteria for human resources management to promote meritocracy and efficiency in public service delivery.

Nahar noted that Jordan is gradually transitioning to open recruitment processes to attract top talent, adding that next month will mark the launch of the Competency Assessment Center, which will conduct standardized and accredited evaluations in a fair, transparent, and reliable framework.

Members of the Thai delegation commended Jordan's efforts in modernizing public administration and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange to support human resources development in Thailand.
