FM Phones Algerian Counterpart to Discuss Syria and Bilateral Ties


AMMAN: Ayman Safadi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, engaged in a telephone conversation with Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, focusing on the situation in Syria and the potential for enhancing bilateral relations.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussion between the two ministers centered on supporting the Syrian people through a comprehensive political process led by Syrians. This initiative aims to guide Syria towards a future that aligns with the aspirations of its citizens while maintaining the country’s unity and sovereignty. Safadi and Attaf underscored the importance of protecting the rights of all Syrians.

The ministers also emphasized the urgent need for Israel to withdraw and respect Syria’s sovereignty, condemning Israel’s occupation of Syrian lands as a serious escalation and a violation of international law. Furthermore, Safadi and Attaf explored ways to strengthen and expand the fraternal tie
s between Jordan and Algeria, reinforcing the long-standing relationship between the two nations.
