FM Receives Phone Call from UAE Counterpart on Humanitarian Relief Efforts

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi received a phone call from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The two ministers discussed collaborative efforts to provide humanitarian relief to Gaza.

According to Jordan News Agency, the conversation focused on strengthening efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the region through coordinated airdrop operations and land crossings. The dialogue followed recent assistance airdrops involving France, Germany, Spain, Jordan, and the UAE.

Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah highlighted that while airdrops are beneficial, they are not a substitute for ground assistance. They emphasized the importance of opening all crossings to ensure the timely and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip.

The ministers reiterated the need for coordinated efforts to establish an exchange agreement, achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and ensure the entry of adequate humanitarian aid amid the ongoing crisis exacerbated by Israeli actions.

Additionally, the discussion underscored the strong fraternal ties between the two nations, guided by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The leaders are keen to explore new avenues for cooperation across various fields.
