According to Jordan News Agency, the discussion underscored the importance of the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, recently announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Both ministers stressed the need for the involved parties to adhere to the agreement to avert potential catastrophic consequences. They called for a swift return to negotiations and a political process to address ongoing conflicts.
The ministers focused on establishing an exchange agreement aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. They emphasized the necessity of ensuring the timely entry of humanitarian aid into the enclave. Safadi specifically called for an immediate halt to aggression in Gaza and the opening of all crossings to aid the delivery of humanitarian assistance, noting the severe humanitarian crisis faced by the Strip. He urged collaboration with relevant United Nations organizations for support.
Safadi also expressed concern over illegal Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, which he believes undermine the two-state solution and reduce the chances for a just and lasting peace.
