Foreign Minister and Arab Parliament Speaker Discuss Regional Cooperation and Challenges

Amman: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Yamahi, along with an accompanying delegation, engaged in discussions on Sunday focusing on pan-Arab action and regional developments.

According to Jordan News Agency, the talks between Safadi and Yamahi centered on enhancing cooperation among Arab countries and improving coordination to address shared challenges. Their discussions aimed at advancing Arab issues and interests to reinforce regional security, stability, and sustainable development, reflecting the aspirations of Arab populations.

Safadi expressed the Kingdom's support for the Arab Parliament's efforts in advocating for Arab causes, particularly commending its defense of Palestinian interests. He called for an end to Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and urged the international community to resolve the humanitarian crisis, advocating for a permanent ceasefire through Egyptian, Qatari, and American efforts, with Jordan's support. Safadi also condemned Israeli violations in the occupied West Bank, asserting that these actions undermine the two-state solution and threaten peace prospects.

Furthermore, Safadi emphasized the need to support the Syrian government's rebuilding efforts, ensuring security, stability, sovereignty, and the protection of Syrian citizens' rights, along with restoring Syria's role in Arab joint action. Both Safadi and Yamahi highlighted the importance of unified Arab action to resolve regional crises and enhance cooperation across various fields.

Yamahi acknowledged Jordan's leadership and praised His Majesty King Abdullah II's efforts in bolstering Arab solidarity and advancing Arab causes and interests.
