Bled: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held discussions with Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Tanja Fajon on enhancing cooperation and addressing the Israeli war on Gaza. Safadi and Fajon focused on the ongoing conflict and the resulting humanitarian crisis, emphasizing the need for increased efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian aid access.
According to Jordan News Agency, the talks also highlighted the importance of establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the two-state solution. Safadi praised Slovenia's stance in condemning the Israeli actions in Gaza and supporting Palestinian self-determination, citing Slovenia's recognition of the State of Palestine and its measures against Israel, such as banning arms exports and imposing sanctions on extremist Israeli ministers.
During the 20th Bled Strategic Forum, Safadi engaged in separate meetings with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Planar, Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic, and Mirjana Spoljaric, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, to discuss regional developments. At a seminar on international law, Safadi criticized Israel's actions in Gaza, arguing that they undermine the credibility of international law and reflect a global moral crisis.
Safadi expressed concern that Israel's government continues to obstruct peace and escalate violence due to ineffective international responses. He stated that Jordan remains committed to a just and lasting peace that ensures regional security and stability, warning that the lack of consequences for Israel's actions sets a dangerous precedent worldwide. Other seminar speakers included Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon, Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Planar, and Vatican Secretary of State Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.
