Foreign Ministry Coordinates with Malaysia on Jordanian Trafficking Case

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is actively monitoring the exploitation case involving several Jordanians, including children, trafficked for begging in Malaysia. This case is part of a larger investigation by Malaysian authorities into human trafficking activities.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's official spokesperson, Fouad Majali, emphasized that the Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate, in conjunction with the Jordanian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, is taking measures to ensure the safety of the affected individuals. These efforts include providing necessary assistance and facilitating their return to Jordan.

Majali highlighted that there is ongoing coordination with Malaysian authorities to address the legal aspects concerning the traffickers, some of whom are related to the victims. The ministry is working closely with both Malaysian and Jordanian agencies to ensure justice is served.

Upon the return of the victims to Jordan, the Ministry plans to involve the relevant judicial bodies to address the involvement of adults in the trafficking incident. This will be done under Jordanian national laws, including the Law on Combating Human Trafficking, which recognizes such acts as cross-border crimes.
