The Jordan Economic Forum released a paper on Sunday titled "Indicators of Digital Competitiveness Components," emphasizing the urgent need to integrate digital technology across various sectors to bolster the national economy. The forum underscored the critical role of enhancing digital capabilities and fostering digital innovation as fundamental to driving sustainable development and improving competitiveness both locally and globally. It called for comprehensive support programs to encourage Jordanian institutions to adopt digitalization in their operations, aiming to boost operational efficiency, increase productivity, and foster sustainable economic growth that benefits all sectors of society. The report also highlighted the necessity of investing in research and development and advancing digital skills to create new opportunities for businesses, thereby enhancing the national economy's global competitiveness. Khair Abu Sailik, head of the forum, emphasized the importance of implementing supportive po licies and investing in technical infrastructure to achieve effective digital transformation. He noted that Jordan's progress in the Future Readiness Index, where it currently ranks 45th globally, is insufficient. Abu Sailik stressed the need for continued efforts to improve technical skills and the research and development environment to support digital innovation.
