Forum to Enhance Social Services Launched in Amman

Amman: Minister of Social Development, Wafa Bani Mustafa, on Thursday inaugurated the "Parental Care Forum: Achievements and Future Prospects," held by War Child Jordan as part of the "Be Present" project, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development.

According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Mustafa emphasized the significant impact of this project on families' lives, highlighting its alignment with the Jordanian community's value system. The project, implemented in various local community development centers across the governorates of Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, and Mafraq, aligns with the ministry's vision of providing social services to target groups.

Bani Mustafa stressed the importance of household-centered training during the project's implementation period, which aims to strengthen family ties. These training sessions aim to empower parents with knowledge of their children's psychological, developmental, and social traits during two critical stages. She also expressed the ministry's intention to develop and expand the project in collaboration with War Child Jordan.

The project seeks to train ministry employees, enhance their capabilities, and improve the level of services provided by local community development centers. It plays a crucial role in supporting the ministry's efforts to provide proactive prevention and care for vulnerable children and victims of domestic violence. Bani Mustafa emphasized the importance of the partnership with War Child and its role in enhancing the ministry's services and programs.

Meanwhile, Director of War Child Jordan, Mohammed Awamreh, advocated for the sustainability of parental care programs at national institutions, particularly the Ministry of Social Development. Awamreh noted that the strategic partnership contributes to consolidating the program's sustainability, improving quality implementation, and enhancing access to a larger number of beneficiary families across various governorates.
