GAM Council Approves MoUs to Enhance Food Safety and Development Services

Amman: The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Council has given the green light to several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) during a session chaired by Dr. Yousef Shawarbeh. The agreements, set to be signed with various organizations, aim to bolster cooperation in health control, food safety, and capacity-building initiatives in Amman.

According to Jordan News Agency, one of the key MoUs approved involves a partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture. This agreement will focus on launching health control campaigns for chilled and fresh meat products. It will also facilitate the exchange of information, coordinate monitoring efforts, and oversee technical committees' operations. The primary goal is to ensure food safety and strengthen partnerships in foodstuff monitoring activities.

In addition, the council has endorsed a MoU with the International Relief Committee (IRC) to provide humanitarian and development services in Amman. This collaboration will also involve joint capacity-building initiatives. Another MoU set to be signed with Luminus Technical University College (LTUC) aims to foster cooperation in exchanging skilled workers, sharing expertise, providing consultations, conducting research, and organizing workshops.
