Amman: The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced plans to operate a new four-phase traffic light system on Friday at the intersection formerly known as the Applied Science Private University roundabout in the Shafa Badran district.
According to Jordan News Agency, the municipality stated that the new measure is part of its strategic plan to improve traffic flow, alleviate congestion, and enhance public safety. The decision to implement this system is aimed at addressing the increasing traffic demands in the area and facilitating smoother vehicular movement.
The intersection at Shafa Badran has been a focal point for traffic-related issues due to its location and the volume of vehicles that pass through it daily. The introduction of the four-phase traffic light system is expected to manage traffic more effectively, reducing waiting times and minimizing potential bottlenecks.
GAM's initiative reflects a broader effort to incorporate modern traffic management solutions in urban planning. By optimizing traffic signals and revising traffic patterns, the municipality aims to provide a more efficient and safer transit environment for residents and commuters.
