A Member of the German Parliament, Bundestag, visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) and was briefed on the university’s establishment, achievements, and role in promoting cooperation between Jordan and Germany.

Christoph Plos, who is the chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with Arabic-Speaking States in the Middle East, met with GJU President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli at the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at the Jabal Amman Campus.

In the meeting, Al-Halhouli said the GJU is a bright model for the relations between the two countries and a cultural bridge linking Jordan with Germany and Europe in general.

He referred to the GJU’s strategy for 2022 and beyond, which is to promote its position as an international university of applied sciences and a leader in education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and community service.

For his part, Plos said his visit to Jordan aims to enhance ties between the two countries, noting that the GJU is one of the most important educational projects that drove and developed these relations.

Dean of SABE, Dr. Maram Tawil, gave a briefing on the role of the campus in Jabal Amman and SABE’s role in preserving and reviving the architectural and cultural heritage, which confirms GJU’s role in serving the community and developing heritage sites.
